The Coaster, The Settler, And The Thriver

There are three types of people: the Coasters, the Settlers, and the Thrivers.

The Coasters
are the people who don’t have any dreams or ambitions. They see life as a time when they eat, drink, reproduce, get entertained, avoid pain and acquire pleasure. Then they get old and die. Maybe they did get inspired and ambitious for a period, and have some hopes or dreams for a more meaningful life, but they have never pursued it.

If you are part of the Sisyphi Camp, I doubt you are one of these people. But just realize, they are EVERYWHERE. On the street, in your household, getting by.

The Settlers are the people who do have ambitions. They want more meaning, achieve more success, and have better lives. However, their hopes and desires lie in the results and destinations, not the journeys. They want to be more successful but don’t put in the work. Maybe they have worked hard for a period, but when they were met with obstacles, failures, and rejections, they gave up. What do they do after giving up? They settle for lesser goals or no goals at all. They let others define their goals and let the world give them their meanings.

You might be like this or used to like this. If that’s the case, just know, most ambitious people are like you.

The Thrivers are the people who aren’t defined by the results, but by the meaning of their effort. They continue to reach for higher ground, whether they have been successful or not. They enjoyed the journey, the work, the steps, and the grind. They care about the input works as much as the outcome results. Yes, they might still feel discouraged by failures and rejections, but they don’t let these circumstances dictate their next action steps. Instead, they use their next action steps to dictate future circumstances.

This is what the Sisyphi Camp is built for, to move you away from either the Coasters group or the Settlers group, and into the Thrivers group. And more importantly, it keeps you here. Here, you are defined by your everyday effort, not by the outcomes and worldly successes. Because if you continue to do the work, you will have the best chance of success.

Now be honest with me, which group are you in right now?
