The easiest yet most effective productivity hacks you can find.

Today’s Idea:

Writing down your top three priorities for the day is one of the easiest yet most effective productivity hacks you can find.

Why it matters:

As creators and entrepreneurs, we all want to get things done. There are a million hacks and tools to squeeze more efficiency out of you. But none is easier and more effective than simply writing down what you must do that day in order of priority. In terms of impact/effort ratio, it’s a habit that trumps all other habits.

Go Deeper:

You can probably tell - I am a big habit guy. I love creating effective habits to make my life more productive. As someone with ADHD, I need all the help I can get to become the best version of myself. In fact, the gap between my best version versus my worst is like the difference between sipping coffee while driving a Tesla versus getting kidney stones while in prison. It’s not just night and day. It’s beaming sunshine vs. pitch darkness.

That’s why I am hosting the Sisyphi Camps. Not only am I helping you to become your best, but I also need it to become my best myself. All these camps are founded on habits I’ve researched and experimented with over the years. They are all based on sweat, blood, and tears.

(OK, no blood involved. Although I am interested in a possible bloodletting camp if I ever get an incurable disease.)

Now, if you ask me: if you could develop only one habit, what would it be?

Although I love all the camps, my answer is simple: The Daily Achiever Camp. Writing down your daily top 3 priorities has enormous benefits and very little cost.

Here are the benefits:

1. It puts your mind to ease
 - every day, our brain is like a homeless person at a Vegas buffet. It goes crazy from goals to goals, thoughts to thoughts, and distractions to distractions. Everything can become an emergency. But if you simply write down your top priorities, your brain calms down because it knows what to do. In fact, if you ever have a hard time sleeping because your brain wouldn’t stop running at night, try to write down your top three goals for the next day. Chances are you will sleep better.

2. It helps you become focused - the old adage - “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail,” is very true. Research after research has proven a deeply focused effort is much more effective than shallow multi-tasking. Knowing your priorities will set your direction toward success. In fact, simply by writing down your goals, you invite the universe to help you achieve them.

3. It’s super easy - this is the real separator for the Daily Achiever Camp from all others. It’s the easiest one to do. You don’t need to smash your alarm clock, or spend hours reading/writing/exercising. All you need is to write down three items and send them to me. Then you are done! Yet, the benefits are tremendous. When it comes to an Impact/Effort ratio, nothing beats the Daily Achiever Camp.

That’s why the Daily Achiever Camp is my favorite son. It’s not to say I don’t love other camps. I love them all! But just like all parents, we all have our favorites. And it’s usually the one that’s the easiest.
